Report also explores role and opportunities for Hong Kong
4 September 2024 – The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will hold a joint press conference tomorrow (5 September) to release a new research report, Seizing Opportunities in China’s Sustainable Investment.
As the world’s second-largest economy, China’s policies for sustainable development have far-reaching global implications. Investments in China are increasingly focused on green infrastructure, renewable energy and green transformation.
As mainland enterprises expand their reach overseas as investors and trading partners, sustainability concepts and values from China will be exported to other parts of the world, including Belt and Road countries and regions.
The press conference will explore how mainland enterprises are emphasising sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in their investments, analyse pain points for enterprises implementing green initiatives and look at the role and opportunities for Hong Kong.
The press conference will be chaired by Irina Fan, Director of HKTDC Research; Christina So, Head of Hong Kong and GBA Lead, ACCA; Wing Chu, Principal Economist of the HKTDC; and Sam Chen, Regional Lead, Policy & Insights – China, ACCA.
